How do I Learn to Dive???
Ocean Planet Scuba has made it easier than ever to learn to Scuba Dive! Here are some quick steps to getting certified and experiencing the underwater world.
|
1. Get signed up!
When you sign up for a Confined Open Water Scuba class at Ocean Planet, you receive your cool PADI Open Water Crew Pack, which includes your manual/textbook, Recreational Dive Planner table and instructions, file, log book start-up pages, a PADI sticker and lots of PADI literature and information. These materials are included in the class fee of $199. At many other scuba shops, your materials cost extra, but not at Ocean Planet. |

2. Get your stuff.
Get your mask, snorkel, fins and booties. We offer packages for $199, $249 and $299. Ask one of our staff members for details about what’s included in each package.
3. Get ready!
Read the manual in its entirety, view the DVD or video that we lend you, complete the knowledge reviews in the manual and fill out your file. Don’t worry about bringing a photo – we will take one. |
4. Get going.
Confined OW class takes place at Ocean Planet on a weekend from 8:30 am to approximately 5 pm each day*. The first half of each day is spent in our spacious classroom. After lunch break, the rest of your day is spent in our beautiful on-site pool, the largest and best in the southwest!
|
|
5. Get checked out!
After you complete your Confined Open Water class, you must schedule your “cert” dives. This is like step two of the OW certification process. You have several options for your checkout dives. You can go to Lake Pleasant for a few hours on a Saturday and Sunday ($250). Or you can add a cert fee ($125) to the regular price of any of our trips**. And if you have your own trip planned, you can do your cert dives on your trip ($45 referral fee).
After you do your checkout dives, we will give you a temporary card to carry until we receive your permanent card from PADI a few weeks later. Then . . .
CONGRATULATIONS! You are now an Open Water Scuba diver!
* There is a $50 no call/no show fee if you need to postpone and we do not hear from you at least 48 hours before class starts!
** Ocean Planet reserves the right to cancel any class or trip with fewer than 8 confirmed participants! |
